A duo-led contemporary performance practice.
Briana Gillet and Andrew Bennett met in spring 2026 at the FUSE Interdisciplinary Collaborative Residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Each arrived with a practice of their own; there, the two converged. Project I/O is what they founded together.
The work draws live music, movement, theatre, projection, and design into singular, site-aware productions. It is built to be felt, not just watched from a distance, with the audience inside the arc of the work.
A cross-medium performance on the arc of relationships and human connection.
Live instruments are processed in real time through a single two-stage signal chain; aerial acrobatics, contact dance and strap work move through and around the sound. It builds from tender duets into fractured group dynamics and ends in suspension.
Premiered as a twelve-minute proof of concept at FUSE In Concert; being built toward an evening-length work. (O)) is also the imprint the recorded work is released under.
On a map, the “you are here” marker is where a journey begins. On this night it is where one ends. A car sits in the middle of a closed intersection, reframed as sculpture — dancers move through and around it, and live trumpet threads through it all.

Project I/O, standing for “input / output”, facilitates moments for creative exchange, expression, and expansion. The touring duo travel alongside a core group of artists, leading a residency-incubator that activates local artists in each city.
I/O experiences are created by the people performing them, with creative authority shared amongst the room. The work is built with and for those hosting it.
French-American trumpet player and cross-medium performance artist. Her work merges classical and contemporary traditions with electro-acoustic sound, movement, and visual media, exploring how music dynamically interacts with space, gesture, and narrative — running the trumpet through effects pedals, processing and mixing the sound live.
A founding member of the Bridger Brass Quintet and a member of the Gillet Trio, whose Tetrascapes showed at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in 2026. Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Utah Valley University; completing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Utah.

Multi-disciplinary artist working across sound, movement, fashion, and artistic direction. Performing as Factor Eight, his music is built entirely from his own voice — a method with sync placements on Gladiator II, The Odyssey, Women Talking, A24’s Warfare, Apple TV+’s Smoke, and Disney+’s Shipwreck Hunters, alongside three Saskatchewan Music Awards and a Western Canadian Music Award.
His installation and performance work has been presented internationally, including Catalyst II in London; recent performances integrate dance, projection, and voice into cross-medium theatrical works, including the sold-out 2025 debut concert A LIVE.
